LMV791-DIE: Operating Temperature Range shown as "25 to 25" on TI "Die & Wafer Services" web site

Part Number: LMV791-DIE

We are interested in using the LMV791-DIE in a high temperature hybrid operating at up to 162 degrees Celsius.

The part is listed on the TI "Die & Wafer Services" web site in the high temperature category, however the operating temperature range states "25 to 25" which we assume is a mistake.

The LMV791-DIE data sheet does not list the operating temperature range.

Please can you tell us the operating range, and / or update the TI "Die & Wafer Services" web site.

    Hey Steve, 

    I would not operate the LMV791 in 162 degrees Celsius. 

    Thomas Kuehl answers this question in this other thread, he states: 

    "TI may not specify a temperature range for a die because different customers use different assembly methods and materials that can widely affect the junctions temperatures at which the die operates, and that can affect electrical performances. The webpage indicates an Operating temperature range (C) of 25 to 25. That is a bit confusing but what it means is a range is not specified, but rather a single 25 degC temperature to which the typical values shown in the Parameter list may be referenced. 

    The "high temperature" rating on the webpage is vague and there is no indication in any of the information explaining what exactly that indicates. It probably shouldn't have been on the list and was a mistake.

    TI tests the die at wafer level to make sure they are electrically good, but since there are no electrical specifications or temperatures listed in its datasheet TI makes no assurances about them. There are just too many factors beyond TI's control once a customer begins handling and assembling them into different assemblies for us to be able to make assurances. Despite this, customers using TI die products do successfully apply them in their products."

    The maximum junction temperature of the plain LMV791 is 150 °C. The maximum operating temperature depends on the RθJA of whatever you install it in.

    I guess that "high temperature" means that you can go fairly near 150 °C as long as your thermal resistance (and the power dissipation) is small enough.
