Hi,
The TLE2022AM datasheets', absolute maximum ratings of Input current is +/-1mA. We understand it is a steady state current. During transient condition can it withstand a current of 4mA for 1us duration?
Expecting your reply at the earliest.
Thanks

Hi Raghavendra,
figure 71 of datasheet implies that for a brief period even a somewhat higher current may flow. But when you run a simulation with the
you will notice that a higher current during CF is only flowing during a period in the 10nsec range.
Please explain why a current of 4mA is flowing in your application. Showing a schematic would be a good idea as well.
Kai
Hi Raghavendra,
Abs. Max. specifications are intended to not be exceeded for any period of time, as Clemens mentioned above. With that being said, there likely would not be a problem if the current is kept to 4 mA, but you would need to test thoroughly, with the understanding that TI does not recommend exceeding abs. max. voltages.

Mike
Hi Kai,
Thanks for your response,
The circuit is quite similar to Fig 71 of datasheet, used in voltage follower application, with Rf = 75K, Cf = 22pF and the transistor current drive stage at the output. I'm evaluating Lighting analysis with WF5 level 5 and Bidirectional device at the output with a clamping voltage of 14V. This will ensure the voltage at the input pin of opamp is less than 15V (VCC supply). However, the current seen at the input of opamp is higher than the absolute max rating for a short duration of time. This current is through the cap Cf only not through Rf.
Any suggestions would be great,
Thanks & Regards

Hi Raghavendra,
can you show a schematic?
Have you already run a TINA-TI simulation of your circuit?
Have you thought about adding external protection diodes like the BAV99 e.g.?
