LF442-MIL: part shows up in "Texas Instruments" library of Pspice for TI, but cannot place

Part Number: LF442-MIL

I am trying to perform a simulation using the LF442 op-amp.  The part shows up in the Pspice for TI library under the "Texas Instruments" folder, but when I try and place a part an error message (error code: ORCAP-2398) shows up that states that the component is not available in the library.  It is looking for file "LF442.olb", which is not the file that is available under the pspice model for this part on the TI website (LF442A.MOD is the only file that is available from TI's website).  I have also tried to import this .MOD file using the "Generate part" tool, and this fails with an error message as well.  How can I use this part in a simulation?

  • Hi Nicholas,

Welcome to E2E! I will need to inquire internally on why the LF442 model doesn't work in the TI Integrated library but in the meantime, you can still use the downloadable PSpice model from the product page. You will need to change the file extension to .lib first. Then you can convert the .lib file to the .olb file through the "Generate Part" tool you tried earlier.

Please let me know if you have further questions.
    Thank you!

    Best Regards,
    Ashley
