TLV1704: Minimum and Maximum Input supply current for TLV1704AIPWR

Part Number: TLV1704

Hello,

I am using TLV1704AIPWR in our schematic with VCC 20VDC. Please help me to figure out the minimum and maximum input current requirement for TLV1704AIPWR.

Thanks,

Kiranjit

  • Hello Kranjit,

The maximum input current over temperature would be ±20nA, or typically ±5nA.

The input is a bipolar PNP and NPN rail-to-rail input stage, so the current would be flowing OUT of the input pins from V-  to 2V below the rail. At about 2V below the V+ rail, the input current will reverse and flow INTO the input pins from 2V below the rail up until the V+.

What are your concerns? You should show a little more of the schematic. The lower resistor is cut off...

  • Hi Paul,

I am going to test functionality TLV1704AIPWR by supplying external VCC from Power supply.

Earlier, We were giving 20VDC below mentioned circuit

Now we want to test it with external programmable power supply. As per your last post , it should be 0.005mA. Am i right?

    Thanks,

    Kiranjit

  • Hi Kiranjit,

Thanks for the follow up. The bias current is typically 5 nA but the current through the voltage divider of the 20V supply should be much higher, generally 100x, to avoid inaccuracy error.
