USB2ANY: Error massage when PGA305EVM GUO setup

Part Number: USB2ANY
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA305

Hi team,

Our customer use USB2ANY for PGA305EVM setup. When USB2ANY connect and start power supply, a below error massage appear.

This error message appear regardless PGA305EVM connected or not. And They retried this using another USB2ANY, this issue didn't appear.

So the customer think this cause is from the first USB2ANY.

Do you have some information about this error message? Or first USB2ANY was some damaged?

Best regards,

teritama

  • Teritama,

I'm not sure what's causing this issue (I don't support PGA305, I just happen to know a lot about USB2ANY). since one USB2ANY works and the other generates some kind of error, my guess is that one of the USB2ANY has a different firmware revision and the PGA305 GUI tool may not be interacting properly with it.

We have a tool, the USB2ANY SDK (https://e2e.ti.com/support/clock-timing-group/clock-and-timing/f/clock-timing-forum/1028162/lmk01000eval-usb2any-sdk-download) which includes a firmware loader subtool in C:\Program Files (x86)\TI USB2ANY SDK\bin. The customer could try checking the firmware revisions of the USB2ANYs, noting the version which works with PGA305 GUI tool and the one which doesn't. The firmware loader should only be used when no other applications are attempting to use a USB2ANY, so note the working USB2ANY and then close the PGA305 GUI tool before checking firmware revisions. If the non-working USB2ANY firmware revision is out of date or unknown, try using the firmware loader to flash the firmware to the revision provided by the firmware loader tool.

If the firmware investigation doesn't suggest an out-of-date USB2ANY as the cause, let me know. There may be additional diagnostics we can perform.

  • Hi Derek,

    Thank you for kindly reply.

I'll  comment to customer to check USB2ANY firmware revision using USB2ANY SDK.

After the customer reply some update, I'll report to here.
