TLV90X1DPW-EVM: CE/EU Declaration of Conformity (aka EU DoC)

Part Number: TLV90X1DPW-EVM

Hi

Please can you provide the CE/EU Declaration of Conformity? The product shows it bears the CE mark however the declaration is not available on the T.I website,

Also, if the product also bears the UKCA mark, please provide the UK Declaration of Conformity.

Thank you

  • Hi Chris,

Sorry for the delay. Attached is the DoC for the TLV90X1DPW-EVM. Thanks for bringing this up to us. This document should be on TI.com.

I'm going to be honest, I never heard of the UKCA till you mentioned it. This board was released back in 2018 which is before the need of the UKCA conformity so I believe that means it will be recognized.

  • Thank you very much for the EU DoC.

For your information, with regards to UKCA, the UK continues to recognise CE-marked products until 31st Dec 2024. From 1st Jan 202, products that are CE but not UKCA will not be acceptable for the Great Britain Market. Only the products that have been already physically placed on the Great Britain Market will be ok, any products that would be in the US or other markets will not be suitable to be imported to Great Britain (GB) from that point unless they are UKCA.

This means this product will cease to be suitable to be placed on the GB by 1st Jan 2025, only the units that are already there, in GB, would continue to be accepted.

So the question will be: Does T.I. plan to start UKCA this product before the deadline of 1st Jan 2025?

  • Hi Chris,

Thank you for letting me know!

I did talk to the team who are in charge of this. They informed me that they have been getting guidelines from the UK governing body on this and have a plan on deploying this when it's time.

    Best Regards,

    Robert Clifton

  • Hi Robert,

Thank you very much for the information. I appreciate you discussed this with the team involved at your end.

Do you have a bit more information as to when this will be put in place?

I am not sure what the team meant by "when it is time" because as a matter of fact, UKCA is "live" since 2021 - i.e manufacturers have started to apply UKCA to their products since 2021. The UK government have been encouraging manufacturers to start UKCA their product since its introduction.

  • Hi Chris,

Apologies for the vague statement. When it's time, means when they have everything ready from our end to start implementing this marking. The good news is that silkscreen changes on the PCB might not be needed. We might be able to add the markings through added esd safe stickers onto the PCB or bag itself. This is, of course, after the boards pass the UKCA testing and requirements!

That said, this is speculation. I'll try to get more information from the team responsible for this if you are interested.

    Best Regards,

    Robert Clifton

  • Hi Robert,

    No apologies needed. :)
Thank you for the additional clarification.

Yes indeed, to start with, a sticker with the UKCA logo will be acceptable, on the product or its packaging, or as another alternative, the UKCA mark can be added to the accompanying paperwork - All this will be acceptable for Great Britain at least for the transition period, i.e until December 2027.

After December 2027, the UKCA marking will need to be on the product and indelible/permanent, i.e. following the same rule as those applying with the CE marking.

May I ask: When the product start to be UKCA, I imagine the UK Declaration of Conformity will be made available on the T.I website against the part similarly to the EU DoC for CE. Is that correct?

    Chris

  • Hi Chris,

I'm not entirely sure how we will role out the UK declaration of conformity, but I do agree with having them on TI.com for everyone to be able to easily access. I'll add that to the questions I've asked our team in charge of this!

    Best Regards,

    Robert Clifton
