LMC6482: Device alternative

Part Number: LMC6482
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA2191, OPA2196, OPA2376, OPA2186, OPA2990

Hi Team,

Good day.

I am looking for a pin for pin alternative for LMC6482. The closest device that I found was OPA2196 and OPA2191. However, these devices are also out of stock.

I found the device OPA2376 that is pin compatible (in DGK package) but I would like to confirm if I can use this in place of LMC6482 as an alternate. If not, can you recommend other part?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Marvin

  • Hi Marvin,

The LMC6482 has 16 V supply rails - typically it is used for supply rails like +/- 5 V or single-ended +12 V.  You were right on with the OPA2196/2191, this is the exact part I would recommend to replace.  The OPA2376 is only 5.5 V max.  If the customer is using the part at only 5 V, this would be a good choice, and there would be many more devices to choose from, but I suspect they need higher than 5.5 V operation.

We have chopper amplifiers that are in a similar supply/current range as the LMC6482 in the OPA2186, but unfortunately no DGK package.

You can also look at OPA2990 - this is has higher offset voltage but can work for cases where offset is not critical.
