Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA2863, OPA2863A
Hi team,
What is the right alternative for ADA4807-2ACPZ-R2?
Best regards,
Kento

Hello Sato-san,
What are the key specifications of interest for your application?
If RRIO input/output capability is needed, the OPA2863A is an alternate at much lower power and industry's highest precision performance with max. drift of 1.2 uV/C.
If low-noise density is needed, then the OPA2625 will be a suitable device with 2.5 nV/rtHz noise density, 2 mA of per-channel quiescent current and NRI/RRO capability.
Thanks

Hey Bharat,
I was looking at the OPA2863, very nice new part - question ? The front page says an active short circuit limit which is rare in low power parts, normally - if that is an output stage design element there is more than a typical in that spec line, yet that is all I see? Does this part really have an active short circuit protect or just the usual base drive limit kind of thing.
Well looking further, more questions?
Why is there an A in the part number, that used to be reserved for graded lower offset versions? What in the world does that last sentance mean in the text - perhaps pure marketeese?
And, it is rare to see a guaranteed drift on the front page, you have lost the test level column? so is this tested or guaranteed by characterization?
Hi Michael,
Great questions!
1. The OPA2863A does have a dedicated circuit limiting the output current during short-circuit condition. The also prevents the device from any potential damage should an output short-circuit occur, say when the device is exposed to harsh environments.
2. You're right that the A suffix is used for high grade parts. That's why the lower precision OPA2863 offers max. 1.3 mV offset and 3.5 uV/C offset drift, whereas the higher precision trimmed OPA2863A offers max 95 uV offset and 1.2 uV/C drift.
3. The offset drift specification of max. 1.2 uV/C is guaranteed by characterization over temperature and across multiple device lots, with the drift values on actual devices being actually much lower than this value. The OPA2863A is trimmed in package to enable superior precision performance & nullify any package related shifts.

Oh, so a seperate datasheet for the A inside of a spec. table on the original device?
There are no limits on the short circuit line, I would guess then this is not tested at ATE.
Yes, output short-circuit current specification is tested in characterization over temperature and not in ATE.
