LM306: LM306

Part Number: LM306
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM311

Hi,

Good day,

We have input of 0V to 12V with 120KHz PWMs at Non Inverting Pin, and 6V reference at Inverting Pin,

Supplies are -5V & 12V

It is Push Pull amplifier, hence we are not given any pull up resistor output.

Output We are getting 0V to 7V Range only.

After adding Pull up resistor at output.

Its will be comes 0V to 12V, But we are expected output -5V to 12V level.

Why we are not getting -Vsat, +Vsat ?

  • Hi Eswar,

have you noticed that the LM306 has an additional GND pin? How do you have connected it to the circuit? Please show a schematic. And tell us what load you want to drive with the output of LM306.

Yes, we are connected ground and -Vcc to -5V, Then Its working  but 32mA current draws from -5V supply & 14mA Current from 12V supply.

Now Output of LM306D is Open condition

  • Hi Eswar,

Thanks for your post. The LM306 was intended to have split supplies with bipolar inputs on the input stage but ground referenced open collector output. The VCC- is only used for the input stage so it can accept negative voltages. I think a better option is to use LM311 which has similar speed but works better with going -5V to 12V on the output.
