INA240-Q1: Question on Test Circuit/Output

Part Number: INA240-Q1

Hello team,

I have two questions from our customer on test circuit/output of INA240A2-Q1:

1. Is there any circuit/test mode for test/engineering purpose in this device, which is not described in the datasheet? If there is one please confirm it will not cause any unexpected operation with specific power supply sequence.

2. Is it correct that when Vs is not powered, output will still be 0V if IN+=14V?

Thank you,

Muwei Zheng

  • Hi Muwei,

    1. There is a test mode for test/engineering purpose, and NC pin serves as the interface to this function. It is recommended to ground NC pin in end applications, although the likelihood of accidentally activating test mode is very low even if it is left floating. Power supply sequence doesn’t activate test mode, there is no risk in this regard.
    2. When Vs is powered down and falls below minimum supply level, output will generally follow Vs. Therefore, if Vs falls to 0V, output will still be 0V even if IN+=14V.

    Regards, Guang
