Hello,
What is the Thermal Tail Settling Behavior of this instrumentation amplifier?
The intended application is for the amplifier to settle to 16 bits.
Thanks

Ekam,

I don't think anyone has done true thermal tail characterization for many decades. it was a big deal in the early current feedback days and we (Comlinear) developed a system to measure it and producte log(time) plots - for instance, a relatively poor part (that I designed) is the CLC400,
That shift over time is thermal tail as a delta power distribution in the output stage works its way (slowly) back to the input offset terms,
Customers complained, so here is a perfect no thermal tail redesign by Ken Saller, the CLC402, And yes, this measured step is getting into <0.002% window in about 100nsec and never leaving it.
Michael,
Thanks for the extra detail on the subject. Very interesting!
Best regards, Art
Hi Michael,
you forgot to mention your article
Hi Ekam,
the settling time for 0.01% settling is specified in the datasheet which represents about 13bit precision.
