TLV3801EVM: LVDS output capture

Part Number: TLV3801EVM

Hi,

I'm looking for a board to capture the one-bit data stream output by this comparator to store data for offline processing.

The comparator would act as a one-bit ADC.

Acquisition at 1 Gs/s sampling rate would be enough. I was looking at the TWS1400EVM. Is this a viable choice, even though it is discontinued?

Thank you for your support.

Paolo

  • Paolo,

The TSW1400 normally uses an input clock with the input data. Not sure on how you plan on capturing this 1-bit data. There is a chance of getting this to work with existing firmware and software but a clock would be required, and the data would have to meet setup and hold time requirements with respect to the clock. With one of the existing modes, the clock is 1/2 the data rate and data is captured on every edge of the clock. This mode operates up to 1GSPS for the data. This uses a 12-bit ADC device. You would have to discard the upper 11 bits of the captured data if using this mode.

    Regards,
