JFE2140: Vgs(off), IDSS Distribution or Standard Deviation

Part Number: JFE2140

Hi,

I have an application where I will have hundreds of these parts in an array acting as a low gain, first stage amplifier. For this particular project, it is fairly important for the gain to have a low mismatch (ie 1dB) between different channels. Is there perhaps a distribution curve or histogram that you have of the Vgs(off) and IDSS between different chips in a lot? A standard deviation would be useful, too.

Best Regards,

Tyler

  • Hey Tyler,

We have IDSS specified with a typical min and max where VGS = 0 V. Under this specification is the IDSS1/IDSS2 ratio with a typical minimum and max. Is this the information you are looking for? We didn't make a histogram but the spec is provided.

  • Hi Chris,

Thanks for your response. I'm looking for a typical distribution (ie uniform, normal) between the min and max for both IDSS and VGS Cutoff or pinch-off. Are the min and max values 3-sigma values that you've observed? 6-sigma? Looking for what part-to-part variations I can expect in a lot for those parameters.

  • Hey Tyler,

This specification was based on a +/- 6Sigma statistic in order to consider lot to lot variation. We considered this specification based on our test data and consulting with our design team on expected variation over time. Hopefully this helps. If I can be of further assistance let me know. Feel free to send a friend request and private message if we can help further via email. I could provide a histogram, but it may not be representative of the lot to variation over time that the specification above considers.

  • Hi Chris,

Thank you for your reply, this does help a bit. I sent a friend request and would greatly appreciate a histogram just so I can have something to point to.
