LM2904B: as comparator?

Hi TI team,

Is it safe to use the LM2902B(A) as comparator as long as the input common mode range isn't violated? Searching for a low-cost LM393BIPWR pin-compatible alternative with push-pull output to get rid of the pull-up.
I know some old amplifiers are prone to phase inversion when using them as comparator. Has the LM2904B been designed to be safe with respect to that (input signals will be within the specified CM range)?

Many Thanks & BR,
KF
