PGA309: PGA309 - TEST PIN

Part Number: PGA309

HEllo

i developped a new product with the PGA309 and i have problems when i program it with Pins TEST,SDA,SCL and GND ( TWo Wire access)

Sometimes , the pga309 breaks ( Logic circuitry) and i am looking for the cause/reason

It is possible that i apply a level '1' to the pin TEST when the PGA309 is not supplied

Do you know this problem ?

Do you have the input circuit of the PIN TEST ?

Do you Have other ideas that could cause this destruction?

Thanks you for your answers

  • Frederick,

The vast majority of logic inputs (and even analog inputs), will have an ESD diode to the positive and negative supply.  Applying a signal to a digital input without the supply will turn on the ESD structure and feed the input signal to the supply.  This can put the device in a bad state and is not recommended.  If you can drive this signal to ground before power up, that should solve the issue.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards, Art
