Hi Team,
Do we have device with more than 0.4mm DIT? Customer need such device to do enhanced isolation. Thanks.

Hi Francis,
All our current AMC amplifiers and modulators have the same DTI. Please expand on what you mean by 'enhanced isolation', what is the application and what safety standard are you trying to meet?
Hi Tom,
It relates to optocouplers. Customer can accept 2 standard:
Do we have devices can meet above requirements?

Francis
Hi Francis,
All of our AMC13xx devices have reinforced isolation according to the VDE 0884 standard. We also meet UL 1577 specs. We do not qualify as UL 'double protection' because we are not using an opto coupler for isolation. Double protection refers to opto couplers by their construction, they are sometimes built with a silicone 'bubble' inside an epoxy shell so that there are two barriers across the package. The 0.4mm is the physical distance from the LED emitter and receiver die (the white arrow below).
Hi Tom,
Based on you said, I don't know why capacitive device(our device) should have double protection certificate(opto-couplers), and customers is very persistent. Do you have any comments here?
BRs,
Francis
That is exactly why we don't have 'double protection', we do not have the same construction as an opto. What is the application and what safety standard are you trying to meet?
Hi Tom,
3-Phase UPS, for UL-Double Protection.
What's standard of Capacitive Isolator? Maybe I can try to convince customer.
BRs,
Francis
Hi Francis,
UL does not have a standard for capacitive isolation, they are still using UL1577. The VDE 0884-11 standard is meant to cover capacitive and inductive isolation and all of our devices are covered by both. In the end, it's the working voltage and withstand voltage that usually set the safety limits.
Hi Tom,
Thanks, the same as I collected at customer side. Let me try to figure out the reason that they must need the certificate, and try to impact them.
I would like to follow it with you offline.

Francis
