AMC3302-Q1: AMC3302-Q1

Part Number: AMC3302-Q1

hi ,

We're using the IC in situations where short circuit is likely to encounter. Shunt resistors are resistive at low frequencies but they pose bandwidth limitation at high frequency because of the parasitic inductance.

We're referring 4 wire kelvin connection layout strategy. Do u suggest any other technique to reduce the sensitivity of shunt towards parasatics ?

We need your opinion on Bandwidth and response time of IC in critical event like short circuit.

  • Hi Gayatri,

Often during a short-circuit event, the shunt resistor will not be the limiting factor, the IC will. However if this is a concern, transitioning to a larger footprint shunt resistor with lower parasitic inductance is recommended.

The AMC3302-Q1 has a 3uS latency. If faster over-current protection is necessary, I recommend looking at our isolated comparators such as the AMC23C14-Q1.
