LPV358-N: LPV358MX/NOPB marking

Part Number: LPV358-N

We have seen many kinds of logos on marking by your company. The logos purchased for this model before were the square marks on the change file, but the logos on the physical pictures of the goods delivered this time are the logos on the physical pictures. Are all the logos on the three kinds of marking approved? Does it affect the function   thanks

  • This is the National Semiconductor logo, shaped like a galaxy. NS was acquired by TI in 2011. Apparently, that manufacturing site has not changed their marking process (and there is no reason to do this when there is no other change).

As far as I can see, that PCN does not apply to the LPV358MX/NOPB.

  • I don't quite understand. Is the logo of the acquired company unchanged? Does this have a file?

  • Are the two logos in the PcN file and the logo of acquired NS approved by Ti

  • In general, it is not specified or guaranteed how the logo looks like. A Product Change Notification document is created only for changes. The logo of the LPV358MX/NOPB has never changed, so there is no change notice needed.

What PCN number is this? Is the LPV358MX/NOPB listed in there?

  • Hi Emily,

In addition to Clemens' comments, I checked that there is no indication that we changed the marking for the LPV358MX/NOPB, so you should expect to see the National Semiconductor logo with "LPV 358M", as stated in the datasheet.

Please refer to the TI Datasheet in the packaging addendum for information on the expected marking:

As stated in the footnote, there may also be additional markings such as logo, but this does not impact the performance of the part itself.

Please let me know if you have further questions.
    Thank you!

    Best Regards,
    Ashley

  • Hello Emily,

That PCN doesn't apply to LPV358-N. The top marking (in bottom photo) are correct. No changes to device function.

  • The pcn file is just to show the logo, in order to make a comparison with the physical logo we received, why did we not receive the logo of ti? Do you mean that the logo of this model is the mark on the physical logo we received

  • Hi Emily,

To clarify, the PCN file is only issued when a significant change has been made on TI side. In the example PCN file you have shown, the symbolization was changing from a TI logo to "TI". If there is no change that took place, there will be no PCN letter that will be sent out.

For the LPV358-N, there was no change in symbolization, so no PCN letter was issued. This was an internal decision made to keep the National Semiconductor logo for this specific device for now. If there is a significant change in the future, you will receive a PCN letter with these details.

Please let me know if you have further questions.
    Thank you!
