AMC1300B-Q1: functional safety with -55C rating

Hello,

I’ve been looking for some -55C rated Isolated Amplifiers to facilitate Voltage and Current sensing in a BLDC motor drive. We’d like these to be functional safety-capable parts, if at all possible. I ran across the AMC1300B, which is rated to -55C, but not functional safety-capable according to the documentation. TI does offer a AMC1300B-Q1 which is functional safety-capable, but it is only rated to -40C. Why is there a difference between the two parts when it comes to the temperature rating? Is there a different solution for isolated voltage/current sense that is compatible with functional safety and rated to -55C that TI offers?

I've modified the ti.com search for isolated amplifiers with temperature rating down to -55C: https://www.ti.com/isolation/isolated-amplifiers/products.html#1192=-55%3B-55&

AC Voltage sensing: ISO224

DC Voltage sensing: AMC1311

Current sensing: AMC1300 (+/-250mV) and AMC1302 (+/-50mV)

I don't think that AMC1300B would be non functional safety capable: with two parallel paths I don't see why it wouldn't be. More than likely the datasheet was written before the "functional safety capable" push.

AMC1300B-Q1 (2020) was released after the AMC1300B (2018) and with new isolation technology.
