using sine signal

Part Number: AMC1351
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO224, , AMC1350

Dear Experts, Can I use this part for measuring AC signals of up to a 10KHz, since its bandwidth is typically 300KHz.

Regards,

Rajesh BN.

  • Hi Rajesh,

    Yes, 10kHz is fine.

    What type of application is the measurement for?

  • The application is inverter control. I am planning to measure the current from a hall sensor. The fundamental current of the hall sensor is 400Hz  and it has harmonics upto 15KHz. The hall sensor converts the current signal to instantaneous voltage signal varies between +/-4V. These signals are processed and connects to a microcontroller board. I want the microcontroller's ground to be isolated from the mentioned signal. Furthermore ,the voltage signal is a single ended bipolar signal.

    Does the AMC1351 works with bipolar signal? Would you suggest any IC that's in ur mind? I had an IC in my mind- ISO224. Issue with this is, the I/p voltage range of this IC is +/-12V, and the signal of my interest is +/-4V. AMC1351 perfectly suits my application which is 5V. But, in the data sheet it's nowhere mentioned -5V.

    Regards,

    Rajesh BN.

  • Hi Rajesh,

    Thank you for the background. Apologies my previous post was incorrect, I was focused on the bandwidth question. The correct device to consider is the AMC1350. This device has a +/-5V input voltage range.
