OPA549: Question of CAD Format

Part Number: OPA549

Hello, this is SEONG YEON KIM.

I have two questions about the parts below.

: OPA549S, OPA549MKVC

I downloaded the CAD Format of OPA549S(TO-OTHER (KVC)from https://www.ti.com/product/OPA549#cad-cae-symbols, in "View options" what linked to 'Ultra Librarian'

And I made a PCB using the downloaded library.

However, the part could not inserted because the drill hole size was small.

(The drill hole size in CAD Format is 34mils, but the maximum size of the pin in the datasheet is: 41mils and the minimum size: 35mils.)

Is the CAD format in question the format of another part? Or is this something that requires another setting?

And I would like to know why the two CAD formats are different,

Even though the mechanical data of OPA549S and OPA549MKVC are the same.

  • Hi SEONG YEON,

I would like to know why the two CAD formats are different,

I do not have answer for you. Likely this may be a typo when specifying the pin's diameter. I understand your frustration.

Generally, the CAD engineer should specify the largest pins' variation + mechanical drill tolerance for these holes. The IC package's mechanical drawing is always the reference.

0.041" pin width should be equivalent to drill size #59.

I can submit a request in our system and ask the CAD package engineer to correct the typo.

If you have other questions, please let me know.

    Best,

    Raymond
