INA700: I2C Spec Question

Part Number: INA700

Hi expert,

Customer used INA700 in a gateway product. So far there is no really communication issue however, we see the measured SDA Vil/Vol out of spec.

DS spec minimum is GND but we see the SDA might be low to negative 0.014. We also see some other I2C solutions Vil/Vlo could be -0.3V.

Could you please advise if any concern to the measured result?

Regards,

Allan

  • Hello Allan,

The VIL and VOL are shown with a minim logic level of GND because we do not recommend using levels below GND. However, the the logic level will still read as low at that point and the absolute maximum rating for those pins for transient voltages is actually -0.3V:

In general, we recommend keeping logic low above GND, but it looks like your setup should be fine.

    Regards,

    Mitch
