Hi, I am wondering why all the Ti's isolated amplifiers have net gain of 2v (i.e. AMC1400 0.25V input, fixed gain of 8V/V =>2V outs/ AMC1350 +/-5V input, fixed gain 0.4v/v=>2) The ADC I am using is the tms320F28397D, with the differential ADC (two ADC channels). Thus, if i use this combination, I will only be using 60% resolution of the ADC (0-3.3.V)?

Hi Jack,

The net get gain is always 2 V to offer easy & consistent interface with 3V ADC and headroom from our own supplies. So yes, using this combination will get 60% resolution of the ADC. You could increase the resolution using a low-cost op-amp such as the TLV9002. Here is a reference design as well.

Note, I would rather attenuate my input signal, than increase the op-amp output signal in order to get max resolution.
