INA351: GS Pin

Part Number: INA351

The datasheet for the INA351 lists the GS pin as floating, Logic0 or Logic1. However it is unclear if Logic0 level is the negative power supply rail of the amplifier or ground, if a split rail supply is used. That is, for a Gain=10 on an INA351A, should the GS pin be pulled to ground (REF in the layout example, page 30) or -VS.

There are basically zero references in the datasheet on how to obtain Gain-10.

Thanks,

Dan

  • Hey Dan,

If you look through sec 7.5 , there's a spec for the logic low threshold voltage on the gain select pin,

It states the logic low max threshold is [(V–) + 0.2] V for a G=10 on the INA351, meaning there's a valid logic low up +0.2V from the negative supply rail. So if you have a negative supply rail of -2.75V, you could have a valid logic low at -2.55V.
