LM331: Low Current to Frequency Converter along with LM334 and LF351

Part Number: LM331
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM334

Hello,

I am trying to design a V to F converter for small currents. Looking into the design details and in order to prototype the circuit I wanted to get more understanding on the parameters.

I am specifically looking at Figure 5. of AN-240 and in order for this to work practically I need the following:

1. V+ value (powering LM334 and Input Zero Adjust)

2. Low value for Input Zero Adjust

3. Low value for LF351

Thanks!

  • Hi Yashas,

    1. V+ value (powering LM334 and Input Zero Adjust)

From figure 5, it looks like the V+ is weakly connected to ground through the 1kΩ and 100Ω resistors which allows the node to sit at about -120mV for the Q2 bias.

    2. Low value for Input Zero Adjust

It looks like the zero adjust is achieved by adjusting the potentiometer. Figure 3 shows the potentiometer biased between V+ and V-

    3. Low value for LF351

I assume by "low value" you are referring to the negative supply voltage (V-). It appears that this design used +/-15V supply so the V- supply is -15V.

    Good luck with your design.

    Regards,

    Zach

  • Zach,

Thanks for a quick response. We will give this set up a try and see how it goes.
