AMC1350-Q1: Driving SAR ADC 16bits/1MSps with the AMC1350

Part Number: AMC1350-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1350, THS4551, ADS8411

Hi,

I am trying to drive an SAR ADC with the AMC1350 without success. The ADC ref is AD4005 (16-Bit, 2 MSPS/1 MSPS, Precision, Differential SAR ADCs). The observed measured voltage value at the ADC output is too noisy (in the best case, I have 100mV of noise on a 2V signal). Several RC filter values have been tried (of course including the recommended values for the ADC). When replacing the AMC1350 by a 1.5V battery, the ADC works nicely, perfectly. When I connect the AMC1350 back in the circuit, the noise comes back.

Would you have any recommendation on how get that working, in order to drive the AD4005 directly with the AMC1350? Would you have any other recommendation? maybe adding another fully dif. amplifier between the AMC and the SAR ADC (which I would like to avoid if possible)

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards,

Luis
