Does the PGA309 have an internal microcontroller that controls the I/O and coefficient calculation or is all of the "intelligence" in hardware? We are trying to determine if there is internal "firmware' or if it is all just hardware design.

Hi Joseph,

PGA309 does not have internal MCU. The image is shown the PGA309's block diagram. The PGA309 has logic block and basic digital interface, but it does not have intelligence built-in in the IC. The part has no firmware either. Technically it is analog instrumentation amplifier with certain built-in logic features, such as DAC, ADC, internal register interface and control circuitry.
If you have other questions, please let us know.
