INA296A: INA296A

Part Number: INA296A

Hi @ all,

i made some simulations with INA292Ax... in LT-Spice.

I did not used single supply

I used dual supply > +/- 5V... i connected GND to -Vee ... and REF1 and REF2 to GND

It seams to work well, at least in the simulation.

Is there anything wrong with providing this OPA with dual supplies?
Are there any disadvantages?
The goal is a bidirectional shunt current measurement, referenced to 0 i.e. GND.
best regards!
  • Hello Mikica,

    This is fine to do.

Disadvantages:  Must now make sure all Absolute Max ratings are done relative to GND pin.  Must account for output of the device able to go to VEE on your schematic and anything else connected to the output.  PSRR is now relative to VEE and VCC combined.  Please be observant of Swing low and swing high especially with a 1K load.  Use the Vout max vs Iout plot in the datasheet.

Other than that this should work.

    Regards,

    Javier

  • Hello Javier,

that means, if i would use an additional OPA as buffer and of course take care of max. values, i should work fine Slight smile

    thx you Javier.

    best regrards
