AMC1351EVM: High side GND and mounting options

Part Number: AMC1351EVM

Hi team,

I am interested in using the board in a test setup to acquire measurement signals and record them with a data logger. I have noticed that there is a difference in the GND on the high side between the photo and the circuit diagram. Could you please clearify that.
I would also be interested to know if you have any mounting instructions if the board is to be mounted in a device.

Thanks

  • Hi Niclas,

Thank you for your question. I see how the drawing and schematic look different. However, I can confirm these are the same. The decoupling capacitors C2 and C3 are connected directly to pin 1 and 4 to ground them instead of drawing a trace out to the capacitors. This provides optimal decoupling. Is there something else you saw that looked different?

Also, it sounds like you plan to use this EVM in your system. Please note, this board is not certified for high voltage operation as the Caution section in the UG indicates and that it is not to be used in an end equipment.

As for mounting, there is a fiducial marking on the device that will show the top left corner. This helps with board orientation as you solder the device onto the EVM.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

    Best regards,

    Eva

  • Hi Eva,

thanks for your answer. So there is no diffference between GND1 and AGND if I understoud you correcetly.

My question about installation was related to the EVM board. Are there any mounting instructions for this or can the through holes be used with an insulated holder?

    Best regards,

    Niclas

  • Hi Niclas,

Yes, GND1 and AGND are the same on this board.

Sorry for the misunderstanding of your installation question. Because this board is not supposed to be installed in a device or end equipment, I cannot support this question.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

    Best regards,

    Eva
