LM393: Replacement of LM393 for 4 channel

Part Number: LM393
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM339, LM339B, LM339LV, TL331, TL331B, TL331LV

Hi team,

My customer is looking for 4ch comparator, they would need the spec is similar to LM393, could you please share some suggestion to us which to use? Thank you.

  • The four-channel version of the LM393 is the LM339.

Nowadays, you should use the more modern LM339B, or the LM339LV for low-voltage applications.

  • Thank you, Clemens! Correct, as usual!

    And the equivalent single would be the TL331 / TL331B / TL331LV.

As Clemens mentioned, we would recommend the "B" versions, as some of the present, and future non-B's will be based off of the "B" design under PCN.

As with any design change, changing to the new device should be tested over a limited test run to insure full compatibility.
