TLV9034: TLV9034

Part Number: TLV9034

Hello!

I am using the TLV9034 and I have a difficulty.

I am using it in the basic mode without hysteresis.The following is a list of characteristics of the schematic:

V+ :3.3V;

V- : 0V(GND);

IN+:input signal,amplitude from 6mV to 50mV random,FWHM is about 200ns with fast rise time and slow fall time;the input resistance=100Ω.

IN-:Threshold=20mV;the input resistance=100Ω.

OUT:50Ω load.

I connect the IN+ and OUT to the oscilloscope with 1MΩ load, and only when the input signal is higher than about 35mV, there can be TTL output.

I wonder whether the phenomenon is normal,if not then how can I  solve this problem.

Thank you so much

  • Thanks for your post.  We are on holiday break and will review your questions when we return on Tuesday.

  • Hi Zhaocen,

    Thanks for reaching out. Can you please provide waveform scopeshots of your inputs and output? It would be helpful for us to see what the issue you're referring to looks like. What does the input signal look like (I am not sure what FWHM looks like and what the 200ns refers to)? With smaller overdrives and even slow rise/fall times, the response time will be slower as well. It could very well be that the output is toggling at a later point than expected. Additionally, is there a reason for the 50ohm load? The amount of current sourced would be quite large.

  • Thank you for your support.The following is the waveform of input(pink) and output(green).  The input signal is from the signal generator.

    There may be some misunderstanding of 50ohm load, the following is the schematic of the circuit. It's the need of subsequent circuit.

  • Zhaocen,

    The pulse of the input signal looks a little narrow. If im estimating it, its about only a 100ns pulse of going above and then below the threshold, this is not wide enough for the output to turn on and transition fully and have a clean output signal. Can you increase this pulse width signal? Additionally, this device isnt suited to drive 50 ohm loads, this is going to increase the sourcing current significantly. You might need some additional mosfets that can drive this 50 ohm loads.

  • Thanks!Your suggestion is very helpful for us.
