CC1101 & CAN-Bus

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1101

I am Looping for.a CC1101 ready to use module that can be directly comtrolled by CAN-Bus.

Is anybody aware of such a module an can point me to s supplier?

  1. Many thanks
  • Hi Herbert,

You can find a list of modules here: https://www.ti.com/tool/3P-WIRELESS-MODULES

I'm not sure whether any of them support CAN bus, you will have to go through the list and check with each supplier.

  • thanks Marie for the swift reply.

I scanned through the application package for the CC1101 you sent to me but unfortunately can't find anything thatz is related to CAN Bus. The environment we would like to use the CC1101 for is an automotive application in which the CC1101 shall detect the signal from a tire sensor and the value shall be read periodically via the CAN bus of the vehicle. I assume that monitoring tire pressue is a standard application for the CC1101. Could you please check if there is a solution available that allows reading from the SPI interface and convert the values so that they can be read via CAN bus?

    Many thanks

    Herbert

  • Hi Herbert,

The CC1101 is a tranceiver, meaning it only sends and receives radio packets. It needs a host device to send it commands. I would think you need the host device to communicate over CAN.
