XTR105: Replacement for XTR105U

Hello,

We had used XTR105U current transmitter IC in one of our previous designs. Currently its status is 'Last time buy'. So we were looking for its substitute. We found one part in the same series XTR105UA/2K5 as per the website its status is Active.

So Can you please confirm whether it is a direct substitute or not? What are the differences between them? Is their any design changes required for replacing XTR105U to XTR105UA/2K5? If yes, can you please provide any reference design for it?

Note: We are using 3 wire RTD.

HI Nitesh,

The XTR105U and XTR105UA/2K5 is in essence the same device offering the same pinout and functionality. The difference is in the specifications tolerances between the UA and U grades as shown on ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS page 3 of the XTR105 datasheet.

There is a detailed example for a 3-wire RTD application design, documented pages 10 - 11 of the XTR105 datasheet. Table II "Error Calculation", includes a detailed error analysis calculation relating the device specifications to the device total error for the RTD design.
