OPA928: Discrepancy between 36V in the overview vs. 16V in the datasheet

Part Number: OPA928
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA828

Hi TI team

Few questions need help on OPA928:

1. When this part will be officially released?

2. What is the supply volage range? Is it max only 16V? Some overview shows it can operate upto 36V?  I’m bit confused about the allowed 40V VDDmax but 16V recommended, maybe the Ib looks worse then.

3. If this amplifier cannot operate at high voltage is there any alternate amplifier from TI that can be considered offers extremely low input bias current (< 20 fA). My requirement is an op amp upto40V and with leakage lower than 100fA across entire temperature range.

Appreciate some feedback and suggestions here.

Bharat

  • Hi Bharat,

    Please see my inline answers:

    1. When this part will be officially released?  RTM in March 2024.

    2. What is the supply volage range? Is it max only 16V? Some overview shows it can operate upto 36V?  I’m bit confused about the allowed 40V VDDmax but 16V recommended, maybe the Ib looks worse then.  The absolute maximum rated voltage of OPA928 is 40V but the max IB of 20fA at 85C applies only to power supply up to 16V.
