THS7530 PD input

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS7530

Using a THS7530PWP, connecting PD (pin 7) to +5V through a series 10K resistor.

After 20-200 minutes of normal operation, pin 7 shorts to about 140 Ohms internally, dragging down the PD line to around 100mV. The THS7530 goes into power down state.

This does not recover, requires replacing the part.

Part does not run hot.

Spec says disconnect or drive to 'logic high' but there are no specs for the drive voltage.

The same 5V is being used to drive the IC as to power the PD input through the 10K.

Removing the 10K pullup and using an open-drain output to drive the PD pin seems to fix the problem.

If this pin cannot be driven near VCC, the datasheet should be amended, yes?
