VCA2617: VGA channel to channel gain variation

Part Number: VCA2617

I am using 2 different VCA2617 VGAs in my circuit. For the first IC the difference in gain between the two channels for similar input and control parameters is  ~1.2 dB, while for the 2nd IC the difference under similar parameters is around 0.2 dB. Is this expected? Is there any way to reduce this difference in gain in the first IC?

  • Hi,

    Sorry for the delay.

The 1.2-dB gain error between the two channels seems high but it can be possible. Typical gain matching spec (for most devices) as per the datasheet is within +/-0.8-dB.

Can you switch out the device in that location with a different device and see if the 1.2db gain error persists? If it still persists, then it could be something to do with that particular board or site.

    Thanks,

    Karthik
