The datasheet of the LM2904-N (originally from National Semiconductor) specifies 50 mA.
The datasheet of the LM2904/LM2904B does not have this information. (An application note says that less than 1 mA prevents phase inversion.)
Please note that this device has overvoltage-tolerant inputs, so a current flows only for voltages below GND.
Hello Michael,
No current will flow for positive input voltage. For negative input voltage, only -0.3V is allowed. No negative current is specified. It is very reasonable to assume -1mA is safe.
For output voltage, no unpowered current is specified. +/-1mA should not be harmful.
