AMC1350-Q1: Footprint not clear, also need alternative component

Part Number: AMC1350-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1350, AMC3330

Hi,

I have recently created a design using the AMC1350QDWVRQ1.

On the component datasheet and therefore on numerous comparison/supplier websites the component is listed as having SOIC-8 packaging. However, the actual packaging is SOIC-8 Widebody. This information can only be found in the footprint drawing at the bottom of the datasheet, only when looking at dimensions.

This is the same with a large amount of datasheets in the AMC series.

I would suggest a change to the datasheet(s) where the term "wide" is added to the package.

In addition, I am wondering if anyone could offer a TI or third-party differential voltage sensing (±2.5V peak-to-peak input voltage) isolation amplifier that has an SOIC-8 (narrow) package and the same pin layout as the AMC1350.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

  • Hi Joel,

Thank you for noting this. I will look into clarifying this on our website/datasheets.

The AMC1350 should come in the SOIC-8 package. An alternative could be the AMC3330. This is only +/-1V and different pinout however so this would take some adjusting. Or generally the AMC13xx devices with an R3' placeholder could work.

Other than the packaging discrepancy, is there a reason to not chose the AMC1350? Are you looking for the automotive rating only (Q1)? Please let me know!

    Best regards,

    Eva
