High-speed (> 100MHz) instrumentation amplifier

Hi,

I am looking for an amplifier IC with the following minimum requirements:

# differential input, single-ended output
# 3dB cut-off frequency > 100 MHz with gain = 10
# high-impedance input with low-capacitance
# low noise and distortion

This would fit in the category of high-speed instrumentation amplifiers. The fastest one I found in TI's website had a bandwidth well below 60 MHz. Does TI have such an IC?

Hi Jidan,

Unfortunately we do not have a defined instrumentation amplifier device that meets all the specs that you outline above, as you mentioned from searching the TI website.

However, it is possible to create a discrete instrumentation amplifier using a circuit like shown in this reference (found here). If you are able to provide more information about your input signal, bandwidth, noise and distortion requirements, and any other application constraints, I would be happy to help find high speed amplifiers that could be used in this discrete solution to help achieve the desired results.

You might also look at the VCA824 type part, intrinsically diff to single wideband with a variable gain function you don't need to use.
