JFE150: CVLD Design; is there a n-JFET with higher transconductance?

The JFE150 is the only JFET advertised for use as a preamp on the website. In our application the JFE150 preforms just shy of the desired gain for a voltage to current pre-amplifier, the input voltage being on the gate and current is modulated from the drain. Is there a similar JFET that has a greater transconductance? Or other very low power solutions for a current preamplifier.

Hey Michael,

Currently the JFE150 and the JFE2140 are the only JFETs that we offer. However I wrote up an application note on the JFE150 that shows how to get as much as 60 dB of gain (adjustable) in a closed loop configuration. This solution provides predictable gain so that you don't have to rely on process variation of gm. I also created an EVM with this same circuit.
