I am not sure how the pins' bend are formed in manufacturing. My guess is that is bent in hot temperature to minimize the bend stress or micro facture (may be even anneal after the bend). If you need to know in details, I can ask for it. Please let me know.

I did some research. The method of curved lead forming is done via stamping, forming and trimming process (mechanical process). No heat treatment is involved.
