BUF602: Stable with capacitive loads ?

Part Number: BUF602

Sir, Madam,

In a new design we want to use the BUF602 exactly like presented by figure 34 in the datasheet: "Self-Biased, Low Impedance
Mid-Supply Voltage Reference".

Some facts:

  • Vsupply is 10V
  • Cload is 100nF typ. (@ mid-supply)
  • Load current pulses from -10mA to +10mA to -10mA

Requirements:

  • Response time should be below 20u seconds to stabilize within 3% of the mid supply (here 5V).
  • Max Vpp on the output should be less than +/-100mV around the 5V reference when there is a current step.

Question:

Simulation presents nice results, even with no capacitive load or a load of 1uF.

May we conclude, based on this simulation, the BUF602 is stable with capacitive loads in the range 0 ... 1uF ? If so, up to which capacitive loads can be supported ?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Best regards,

Patrick Hendrickx
