INA302: Using INA302 to control gate driver during Short Circuit event

Part Number: INA302

Tool/software:

Hey TI Experts,

We have designed a switching circuit with Mosfets in High Side configuration and current measurement resistor(shunt) on low side.

We are using the INA302 in Latch mode.

We are setting the Rlimit resistor value as per required and when out of range condition occurs the Alert1 gets low and is connected to the MCU as an Interrupt. Hence enabling the MCU to control the release of the FETs i.e., Turn On the FETs.

The Alert2 pin is directly controlling the gate driver through AND gate to enable the protection independent of MCU intervention.

The AND gate is used to enable both MCU and INA302 to take action independently.

The Cdelay capacitor is set at 150us as required for Short Circuit event detection.

We would like to know if this configuration will work as expected or are there any potential flaws in the schematic.

Request your valuable response on the same.

Thanks & Regards

Ibrahim
