Hi,
My customer wants to use TLV6001-Q1 for high side current sensing.
Current range: 0-20 A
The MCU is a 5V interface.
Please advise on device value selection for 0-20A sensing.

Hello Cho,
In the current configuration, the schematic has a differential gain of 20V/V and filtering capacitors of 10nF.
I have swapped the TLV6001-Q1 for our newer generation TLV9001-Q1. The TLV9001-Q1 will be better in almost every way when compared to the TLV6001-Q1, including 1Ku pricing.
With this gain, I would recommend a 10mOhm-12mOhm sense resistor.
I have simulated the response below with the 12mOhm sense resistor:
I have intentionally scaled the 20A to equal~4.8V output so as to ensure the output of the amplifier stays linear at 20A sense current.
Please be sure the customer implements a kelvin connection at the sense resistor to obtain accurate results:. This is best implemented like this:
I would also plan for the customer to implement an Riso and Cflt at the output of the amplifier for the data converter. If the customer has information on the ADC used in the MCU, I could also help select values for these components.
Please let me know if the customer has any questions.
Thanks,
Jacob
