There are many next generation P2P options for OPA177 (SOIC).

For Rail-to-Rail output performance, please see OPA205 and OPA206. OPA206 includes integrated ±40 input over voltage protection.

Hi Jack,

Thanks for your help. Customer now need rail-to-rail in and out, so maybe the devices clemens mentioned will be more suitable.

The architecture refers to all transistors, and this mostly affects the inputs. CMOS devices usually have lower input bias currents and power consumption and somewhat higher noise at the same speed; you see this in the comparison I linked to.

I do not know what characteristics are important in your application. In general, the differences of the OPA191/2 make them better, but a much faster amplifier might have more ringing at the output.

Hey Francis,

Please see our application note for an overview of the different input technologies (CMOS vs Bipolar vs JFET).

If customer needs RRIO, please suggest OPA191 which is a CMOS input amplifier. Notice the difference in voltage noise between the Bipolar Input Stage (OPA177) and CMOS Input Stage (OPA191). If the offset spec is not required, we also have OPA196 that is the low grade variant at 0.1mV offset voltage. Does 15 nV/√Hz voltage noise at 1kHz meet the customer requirement?
