LM3488: Simulation files

To achieve this boost ratio and create both negative and positive output rails, I assume you are planning to use a flyback topology.
Is isolation required?
Is regulation via primary or secondary side desired?
What is the maximum load condition?

Based on these answers, you should be able to find reference designs within our library. You can also look for references by using our search tool here:

Instead of LM3488, I can also recommend using the LM5156 device. This controller runs in newest process and comes with improved features like adjustable softstart.
There are also more references available for this device.

To be more accurate, In fact my intentions is to be able to simulate this circuit in TINA-TI, this architecture  is SEPIC Converter.

So, I wanted a to have reference design to have almost the same schematic in TINA-TI, can I even simulate this circuit in TINA-TI?

Thanks for the feedback.
I double checked the files and it seems like we only have PSpice transients models available for LM3478 and LM3488.
For TINA, there is only an average model for TINA for LM3478 and no transient model.

To run a transient simulation, you would either need to use PSpice for TI which is available for free, or transfer the unencrypted netlist from PSpice to the other simulation.

I could import the .LIb file to TINA as follow, so can I trust this file and build the rest of the simulation?

Hi Behnam,

The average model is for AC/small signal analysis only. It can me used for stability and Bode Plot simulations, but not for simulations in the time domain.
On the other side, a transient model cannot be used for AC analysis, as the simulator will not find a steady state due to the switching regulator behavior.

Once you imported the .lib file of the transient simulation model, you can build the circuit around it and start simulating.

Would you please let me know, why the Pspice for TI is so slow, for example for this LM3488 it take 8 minutes, but TINA-TI is much faster, is there any specific reason?

Thanks for the feedback.
Unfortunately, it is a known concern that PSpice takes longer simulation times than other simulation tools like SIMPLIS, LTspice or even TINA.
This is due to the simulator engine and how it calculates. There are some small improvements you can make to reduce the simulation time, but this normally comes at the cost of lower accuracy.

Regarding the external components not implemented in the PSpice library,
To be able to provide PSpice for free to customers, a lot of third-party models a not included in the simulator.
It is possible to get the model files for these online and import them into the PSpice schematic, but then simulation limitation become active, like a maximum of 3 probes per simulation.
Instead, I would recommend to use ideal components as replacement for the mentioned parts.
