USB-TO-GPIO2: USB2ANY not detecting across many softwares

Part Number: USB-TO-GPIO2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am trying to use the USB2ANY to interact with some eval boards. The boards seem to be okay but the issue is the USB2ANY. I was recommended to update the firmware on the USB2ANY prior to use but I am struggling to do so.

In "USB2ANY Explorer" I get this while it is plugged in.

In "USB2ANY Firmware Loader" I get this

And yes, it is recognized by my computer.

Any help and advice is welcomed,

Jeremy

  • Hello Jeremy,

This is interesting. As long as the usb2any is detected and updated, you should be able to interface with our devices.

I would open an E2E thread with the usb2any group to get this resolved.

    Best,

         Quentin

  • Hey Quentin,

What group covers the USB2ANY, it defaults to the Amplifiers group when setting up new question. Can you reassign us to the right team?

    Nick

  • Hello Nicholas,

I see what you are saying. I will look into it to see if I can find someone specific.

In the meantime, it looks like you have the correct software.

The following is what my software looks like. Make sure you have the correct version of the software.

Then when you open up the BQ GUI with the USB2ANY plugged in, it will ask you to update further to 3.1 version.

    Best,

         Quentin

  • I have the correct version of the software. When I plug in my USB2ANY, nothing happens. It seems across many softwares there is an auto firmware update prompt that should be happening but the softwares aren't detecting my USB2ANY to begin with.

  • Hello Jeremy,

    1)       2)

Are you using a device that looks like image 1) or image 2)?

If you are using a device that looks like image 1), then you may be using the incorrect software to update the device.

The one that we use on a daily basis with our BQ EVMs is the device like image 2).

    Best,

         Quentin

  • I am using the device that looks like image 1). Let me know what software I should be using for evaluating the BQ EVMs with the USB2ANY in device 1)

    Edit:

I see now, I haven't been using a USB2ANY this whole time. The issue is that only the USB to GPIO shows up on Digikey which is my supplier so I assumed it was the USB2ANY. Yikes. I believe I have an actual USB2ANY coming from Nick, thanks for the help.

  • No worries Jeremy,
I am glad we could help resolve this. When your USB2ANY arrives let us know if you have any more questions.
    Best,

         Quentin
