INA190: Application for 1nA to 1uA Current measurement

Part Number: INA190

Tool/software:

Hi There,

I recently came across an application note of INA190 to measure uA current.

I just wanted to ask if it can be used to measure current in the range of 1nA to 1mA ?

Please let me know, if not then please suggest a suitable Instrumentation or Current Sense amplifier.

Thanks..!!!

  • Hi Ishan,

Firstly, the Ib of INA190 is specified as 3nA max, so I would recommend sensing currents much greater than 3nA so that Ib doesn't play a significant role in your load current.
Secondly, the Vos is 15uV, you must select your shunt resistor carefully such that the voltage across your shunt is greater than Vos so that offset voltage doesn't overload your Vshunt.
