problem rcv240

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RCV420

Dear Colleagues,
I have the same problem as Alejandro Flores. I connected a dissolved oxygen probe to rcv420 (Fig 1 data sheet), but I get voltage pin 3 negative. The voltage is +15 on pin 16 and -11 V on pin 4. I can not understand where the problem is.
I have on pin 3 -1.57 v. This voltage does not change.
Thanks and greetings from Spain

  • Hello Mariano,

    My apologies for the delay.

The issue that Alejandro was having in his design is that he was originally not providing loop power to his two-wire current loop transmitter. With a two-wire output device such as the Model 310 that Alejandro was using, the sensor and acquisition circuitry are powered from the positive loop terminal and the return current with the sensor information is passed back on the other wire.

Please connect your system up like I've shown in the following block diagram.

If your 2-wire sensor+transmitter can be powered from +15V, then the positive loop supply can power both the RCV420 and the 2-wire transmitter.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

    Best Regards,
