How does this material differ from before and does it have less of an environmental impact?

  • Hi Zoe,

How does this material differ from before and does it have less of an environmental impact?

The information below is our current chemical composition of the OPA552UA's molding compounds.

    https://www.ti.com/materialcontent/en/report?pcid=32223&opn=OPA552UA

I do not have detail information about what material will be used in the upcoming product, but I will find it out for you.

Generally, the replacement of molding compounds will be improved and better than what was used before. Perhaps it is adapted for less impact for the environment. My guess is that the molding compounds may be changed to enhance MSL ratings (e.g. MSL=2 or better), and I will find it out for you (The changes could be as simple as curing agent for the epoxy resins).

     Best,

    Raymond
